Birds of a Feather

We knew exactly which photo we were going to use when we saw that Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge for this week was feathers. Driving down Death Road in Bolivia was a very intense experience, one which we aren’t likely to forget any time soon. In the middle of the trip, we passed through a small village, really just a couple of huts. Running across the road in front of us was a chicken, no surprise there, but accompanying him was a turkey. Somehow, the thought of a turkey in the jungles of Bolivia had not crossed our minds, let alone that he should appear to be friends with the roosters and chickens that he lived with.

Daily Post Discover Challenge – Witness

Like most people, we are nature lovers and try to keep in touch with nature even when we’re not travelling. We have bird feeders in our backyard and enjoy watching the birds and squirrels that congregate daily to partake in the feast.  It can be somewhat soothing to watch the birds as they fly back and forth from trees to the feeders.  Every spring, we watch the families come to feed as the parents first take seeds to the babies and then teach the babies to fly up to the feeder on their own.  The picture here is of one of the small birds that joined us for breakfast everyday when we were in Cabo San Lucas last November.  They would hop around the tables hoping to find some scraps as people finished their breakfast.
