America’s Mountain

Living in Colorado Springs at the base of Pikes Peak is truly a wonderful place to not only live, but for friends and family to come and visit.  One thing that everyone who visits us loves to do is to take the cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak.  The cog railway, which is the highest train in the world at over 14,000 feet (4,250 meters), just celebrated its 125th anniversary of operation in June of this year, so it is historic as well providing fascinating views of Pikes Peak and the front range.  For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Tracks – trains, rail tracks, etc., we chose a few photos from one of trips on the cog railway.  The views from the top of Pikes Peak are simply amazing.

Daily Post Photo Challenge – Details

For this week’s photo challenge, details, we decided to use a few photos from our trip into the jungle at Carrasco National Park in Bolivia. Taking close-up pictures isn’t something that we do too often, but every now and then we do take a few and we took all of these photos from that one day trekking in the rainforest. Not everyone is a fan of insects, but they can be amazing and even beautiful at times.

Where Does All of the Time Go?

Days, weeks, months, years; the all seem to be flying by these days. One of our favorite quotes is, “life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes”. Funny, but also too true. We’ve been extremely busy lately, which seems to make time go by even faster. This is our first attempt at Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge and this week’s challenge is Locks and Clocks. We like black and white photography, it can sometimes be even more striking than a color photograph. Admittedly, we consider ourselves amateur photographers at best, but it has been fun to take some of these challenges from time to time (pun intended). This particular photo is of the Clock Tower Building in Manhattan.
