Our African Safari Adventure Has Come to an End

We are sitting in the Frankfurt airport waiting for the final leg of our flight to begin. We spent the last few days enjoying time in Nairobi and reminiscing about all of the animals that we saw. With about 8 thousand photographs to go through when we return home, it is definitely going to take some time to get through them all. Traveling internationally has also been an adventure as well, so we will actually be happy to get home and sleep in our own bed. It has truly been the trip of a lifetime, especially considering the over 19 month wait to travel once again.

We are in the Middle of a Few Days in the Serengeti

We are in the middle of the second day in the Serengeti. It is once again a completely different experience and magnificent in every way. We chose not to bring a computer in order to save on space, so we will have to wait until we get home to go through the 5,000 photographs that we have taken. With another five and a half days on safari and several days in Nairobi, the numbers will be staggering. Until then we can transfer from the camera, we are limited to pictures from our phones, but we still have thousands to choose from. We have already seen the “Big Five”, lion, rhino, water buffalo, elephant, and we saw the leopard yesterday. WIFI continues to be spotty, so we will post again at the next chance that we get.

Day Three of Our Safari Adventure – Ngorongoro Crater

Every day has been a little bit different and today was no exception. We spent the day driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It is a spectacular place that we will describe in detail when we return home. The highlight of the day was seeing a black rhino. They are very rare and it was a treat to get the opportunity to watch it’s strength and beauty. It was a cool and cloudy day, but that didn’t diminish the experience.
