Time Lapse

We don’t often take photos as a series, we tend to just point and shoot towards the objects that draw our attention. The one exception to this is with sunsets, which by now you know we truly love seeing. We will often take a series of pictures as the sun slowly descends from the sky until it finally leaves only the glow against the clouds to remind you that it was once above the horizon. For this week’s Daily Post Discover Challenge – One, Two, Three, we decided to show not just our favorite shot of a sunset, but instead show the sequence of shots that we captured.  We aren’t putting every photo here, but the photos are in the order in which they were taken. This was a sunset as seen from our house, or what used to be our house, in Colorado Springs earlier this year in April.

The First Photo that We Took
Zoomed Out a Little
Tried a Different Setting on the Camera
Turned Our Attention Away from the Sunset to the Stormy Clouds that Helped Create the Sunset

Now There were a Few Birds in the Trees

The Eyes Have It

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is Eyes and we couldn’t help but think about the elusive Owl Butterfly that we saw in the jungle while we were in Bolivia. Not only do you get the eye on the wing, but blue eye of the butterfly itself is pretty interesting. We were lucky that it stayed so still and even though it was the middle of the day, it felt like nighttime with the dense canopy of the rainforest over our heads. Not everyone likes insects, but this one was definitely interesting to see.

Hiking in the Rockies

One of our favorite hobbies is to get out into nature and to go on a hike. If we could, we would probably go hiking every weekend, but unfortunately life doesn’t always cooperate. Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is all about Walking, Indoors and Outdoors, so we thought we’d take everyone on a hike with us. We’ve put together a series of photos from a recent hike that shows the various transitions of the trail as it wound its way into the mountains.  If you use your imagination, you can feel the mountain breeze, hear the chirping of the birds, and smell the trees and wildflowers.  So, come along with us as we walk along a single trail in the Colorado Rockies.
