Colorful Homes

Wherever we travel, we always enjoy seeing beautiful and colorful homes. Sometimes the scenery around a building can add to its beauty and sometimes it is just the building itself that sets the scene. For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, Houses and/or Barns, we decided to choose a couple of our favorite photos of colorful homes. First is a barn outside of Cripple Creek, Colorado, from last year when we went hiking during September as the leaves in Colorado were very vibrant.

And just as the colors of the changing leaves made the simple barn a beautiful scene, the colorful homes in Reykjavik, Iceland, made the urban landscape more pleasing to the eye.

Cee’s Which Way Challenge

We haven’t participated in this challenge before, but when we were going through some pictures of Iceland the other day we came across a photo that seemed perfect. The purpose of this challenge is to show photographs that depict the roads, walks, trails, rails, and steps that carry us places. Iceland seemed particularly fitting since we spent so much of our time taking pictures from our rental car. This photo was taken when we stopped at Gullfoss Falls and climbed down these stairs to get a closer look at the waterfall.

We saw plenty of incredible scenery while driving, like the glacier off in the distance as we twisted and turned around the peninsula.

Daily Post Photo Challenge – Pure

During our trip to Iceland, we definitely saw plenty of untouched nature. “Pure as the driven snow” is a phrase that can easily describe much of what we saw during our time there. So, we chose this photo of the open landscapes covered in freshly fallen snow as our entry for this week’s theme of pure.
