Lake Titicaca

Whether visiting Peru or Bolivia, it is definitely worth taking the time to visit Lake Titicaca. The lake extends into both countries and has several islands with Incan ruins that are thousands of years old. Obviously, we visited from the Bolivian side of the lake and we visited both Isla del Sol (Island of the Sun) as well as Isla de la Luna (Island of the Moon), which were fascinating. There are several tour companies that will take you out to the islands via boat or hydrofoil and it is even possible to spend the night on Sun Island. Our trip out onto the lake started out a little choppy as a single rain cloud seemed to follow us out to the island. We even saw a waterspout at one point and had to take cover inside of the cabin of the boat. This week’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, words that have two T’s, we decided to look back on our time on Lake Titicaca. We saw many interesting things during our time in Bolivia, but visiting the ruins on the lake was certainly one of the highlights of our time there.

Reminiscing About Romania

Looking back at our time in Europe, one of the most interesting places that we visited was Romania. It was unique for a variety of reasons, but it was definitely extremely interesting. Although we spent a couple of days in Bucharest, the highlight of our trip was the time that we spent in Brasov. It is nestled in the Carpathian mountain region and apparently has a variety of ski resorts nearby, although we didn’t do any skiing on our trip. Our hotel was located right in the city center and our room overlooked the main square with its brightly decorated Christmas tree. We really enjoyed the architecture as it was different than most of the other places that we visited. For this week’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge that must start with the letter R, we thought we would revisit Romania through photos. If you ever get a chance to visit Romania, we would certainly recommend spending a few days in Brasov.

What’s in a Name?

When we talk to people about our blog site, we often get asked for the meaning behind our name, LivingTheQLife. It is actually pretty simple, our last name starts with the letter Q and when we first decided to start writing about the places that we’ve traveled to and the food that we’ve eaten, we thought to ourselves that we are fortunate to be living a good life. That simple thought turned into our name since we were living our lives in the best way that we could. This week’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is anything with the letter Q, so we could have chosen just about anything, but here are few photos that represent the theme.
