When One Door Closes, Another Door Opens

Obviously we have been going through many changes since moving to Germany. We try to look at every obstacle as an opportunity for growth and change, but it isn’t always easy. This week’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is about Entrances and Doors. We have crossed many thresholds in our lives and each has proved to bring something interesting, perhaps unexpected, not always good, but never the less it has left an impression on who we are today. Taking photos of doors is something that we had not done as much of in the past, but we have done more of it as we have travelled to more varied places. We decided to choose this photo from Tiwanaku of the entrance to the Sun Temple as our featured picture, but we have also included a couple of other entrances and doors that we have found interesting.

Daily Post Photo Challenge – Chaos

Things have been very hectic in our lives lately, so we see chaos in a lot of our daily experiences. With that said, this week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge reminds us of our trip to India, where everything about our time there seemed chaotic and sensually overwhelming. We couldn’t even imagine trying to drive on the roads in Chennai as there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the honking and movements that occurred. In many ways it was an odd dance of cars, rickshaws, motorcycles, and animals that all seemed to move in their own unison, dysfunctional as it may have seemed. So enjoy these photos from India for this week’s photo challenge.

Urban Skylines

We didn’t expect to move to a city with skyscrapers when we first thought about travelling and spending time in Europe, but that is exactly what has happend. Frankfurt is considered the “Mainhattan” of Germany and, although it is not anywhere near as big, it is definitely filled with modern skyscrapers. With Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge for this week being commercial or industrial buildings, we decided to choose some photos from some of our favorite urban locations. Among them are Denver, Chicago, New York, Frankfurt, and San Francisco. We selected the picture of the factory from our trip to Denver as we were waiting to fly out to Germany as our feature, but really we like all of the urban landscapes.
