Changes

It is that time of year when everything seems to be changing. Probably even more so for us as we learn to live in a new country, but changes are always happening around us. This week’s photo challenge is Transmogrify, which is all about transformation. There are several ideas that jump to mind, a butterfly coming from a larva, a building transformed by artwork, or costumes representing the holiday season. For us, though, this time represents the transition from autumn into winter, especially as the days here in Germany tend to vary every day. So our entry for this week’s challenge is one of a transition from autumn into winter as viewed from one of our many hikes in Colorado.

Colorful Homes

Wherever we travel, we always enjoy seeing beautiful and colorful homes. Sometimes the scenery around a building can add to its beauty and sometimes it is just the building itself that sets the scene. For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, Houses and/or Barns, we decided to choose a couple of our favorite photos of colorful homes. First is a barn outside of Cripple Creek, Colorado, from last year when we went hiking during September as the leaves in Colorado were very vibrant.

And just as the colors of the changing leaves made the simple barn a beautiful scene, the colorful homes in Reykjavik, Iceland, made the urban landscape more pleasing to the eye.

Daily Post Photo Challenge – Shine

Bright objects can definitely draw your attention, especially when looking through the lens of a camera. For this week’s photo challenge, shine, we decided to use a photo that might seem a little whimsical. These pictures were taken from our hotel room in Denver during one of our visits. It is a photo of the large blue bear looking into the windows of the convention center. He seems to be the one drawn to the shining lights inside of the convention center as well as to the activities going on inside. It was dusk when we took the photo, so the lights from inside the building were lighting up his silhouette.
