We were nominated by fellow blogger, ProjectRelish, for a seven-day photo challenge, so we will be posting one of our nature pictures every day for the next seven days.
For Day 3, we chose a picture from our trip to Tangier, Morocco.ย During our trip, we visited the Cave of Hercules (Grottes d’Hercules), which is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.ย It is an interesting site, but the highlight is the opening of the cave that is believed to have been carved by the Phoenicians.ย When viewed from the ocean, the opening is in the shape of Africa, which makes it pretty unique.
Rules: Post one nature photo and nominate someone else for seven consecutive days.
Nominating Main Street Threads, who is currently studying abroad and travelling Europe.
Nice post ๐
Thanks ๐
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for checking it out ๐
I’m dying to go to Morocco, and this just increased my desire.
Visiting Morocco is one of our fondest memories ๐
Beautiful blue, actually reminds me of the Blue Grotto in Capri!
Capri is on our “must see” list ๐
There is a Blue Grotto in Malta also.

We should say that the entrance was carved, not the cave
Never been!
It’s very pretty there.
We’ve been several times, it is our “go to” vacation when the weather starts turning cold here in Colorado. ๐
Long journey for you. I’d like to get to Colorado one day.
You should, it is a beautiful place ๐
Lovely pic……..but as a geographer have to say…….isn’t it the sea that ‘carves’ the cave!
Our understanding is that it was carved by the Phoenicians, but perhaps it was the sea โบ
It was probably a little bit of both, but a beautiful spot in the world.
