Roadtrip to Chicago

Along the Lake

Our posts my be a little sporadic over the next few days as we are making the eighteen hour drive from Colorado Springs to Chicago. We are visiting our youngest daughter and enjoying one of our favorite cities. Chicago has so many restaurants, museums, and sporting events that we’ll likely be very busy over this holiday weekend, but we’ll connect as much as possible.Β  As the home of the first skyscraper, we absolutely love the architecture of Chicago, so we thought we would share a few photos from our last trip to the windy city.

  1. Chicago, yeah! my favourite modern city! Do enjoy the trip, your stay and your daughter. I’m trying to figure if I can hop over in September πŸ™‚

    1. Hope you can make it! It was great and we saw even more incredible architecture. We’ll be sharing shortly. There is a pretty good chance that we’ll be in Europe for an extended period around the same time, but until it is guaranteed, we don’t want to say too much about it. πŸ™‚

  2. Have fun! We are here in Chicago this weekend also – returning to our home from our temporary home in DC. Does your daughter live right in the city? None of our 3 kids settled in Chicago after growing up here; now we wonder if we will permanently return someday or not? We love the city, but are not big fans of about 7 months of weather!

    1. We had a great time. Our daughter lives near Wrigleyville and loves it. It is a great city and we definitely enjoy visiting. Moving away from where you grow up is probably one of the best ways to truly grow as an individual, so we don’t blame the kids. πŸ™‚
