When we were in Ronda, Spain, a couple of years ago, we went to an olive oil factory where the local growers brought there harvests to be pressed into olive oil. It was fascinating to see how the olives were transported into the factory and then pressed using large, weighted, presses. To say that the olive oil that we tasted that day was some of the best that we have ever tasted would be an extreme understatement. For this week’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, Gears and Engines, we thought that we would share a few photos from that tour. We can almost taste the olive oil when looking back at these pictures.
Have you read “Fake Food, Real Food”? Interesting info on, among other things, olive oil.
No, we haven’t. We will give it a read.
Marvelous post for this week’s topic. 😀
😀
Nice photos! I recently wrote an article about a nearby thousand year old olive tree that you might find interesting: https://thetreeographer.com/2017/08/12/the-millennial-olive-of-arroyo-carnicero/. 🙂
Great post! Will be in Ronda in March 2018 and want to do olive oil tasting that day too. Do you have any contact information about the olive oil factory you visited? Did you need an appointment and were you able to taste the oil? Thanks!!!
We visited the olive oil factory on a private tour and we can’t find the name :(. Yes, you did have to have an appointment and we did taste the olive oil. We bought several bottles back home with us.
Ditto. We are visiting Ronda Nov 22-23 and would like to tour a olive oil factory. Do you have contact information? Thanks in advance for your help
Unfortunately we don’t remember the who we did the tour with. The hotel made the arrangements for us. We have used Tours by Locals for other tours and they always do a great job. They probably do olive oil vineyard tours.
